The Kiwaya KS-1 is the entry-level model of these top-quality Japanese built ukuleles.
Modelled on the traditional Martin S-0, Kiwaya Ukuleles are built as light as possible for tone and projection. Aside from beautiful tone, close attention is paid to the fretwork, intonation and action making Kiwaya instruments some of the most comfortable and easy to play ukes in the world.
This entry-level soprano is made from woods from an environmentally friendly source. Although the KS-1 has a laminate constructed body, the woods are so thin that the tone comes very close to what you might expect from a higher budget solid wood instrument. If you've got a bit more money to spend, then go straight for the KTS-4 or KTS-5, but if not, don't dissuaded by the laminate construction. This is undoubtedly a quality instrument.
